WHAT YOU WILL DO Noora Health is an 11+ year organization with deep government relationships and a proven field model with operations across four countries. Technology will play an increasingly important role in how we support families, health workers, and public health institutions.  Noora Health would like to re-imagine how we scale, balancing its traditional high-touch approach with high-tech capabilities. Our technology is nascent and rapidly evolving. We have a small and growing engineering team (currently ~14 engineers), a conversational AI platform that is live but evolving, and a set of hard unsolved problems around how AI behaves safely and reliably in high-stakes health contexts for users with variable literacy and intermittent connectivity. As we move towards a more catalytic era of growth, we are exploring how to: Make AI-generated health guidance genuinely safe at scale, Architect a system that can integrate with government health systems across different country contexts.  Build an engineering culture that attracts strong technical talent into the global health space Build a strong system to leverage data insights to elevate the quality of care and support Key responsibilities include: Technology Strategy & Architecture Define and own the architecture for a platform built to reach 100 million caregivers — resilient across low-connectivity environments, interoperable with government health systems, and designed to evolve as AI capabilities mature. Partner closely with Noora Health’s product leadership to translate product strategy into scalable, secure, and high-quality technical systems. Communicate the vision to all stakeholders, including team, funders, and partners, to align on where we're going. Engineering Leadership Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization; currently ~14 engineers — with a mandate to scale the team thoughtfully as the platform grows. Foster a culture of quality, speed, and technical rigor, and help establish Noora Health as a destination for engineers who want their work to matter. ABOUT THE ROLE The Mobile Care Companion (MCC) is Noora Health's primary digital touchpoint for family caregivers post discharge, serving ~50,000 users a day across India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal. It delivers behavior change and health system navigation at scale through two-way conversations, clinical triage, care coordination, and a growing set of AI-powered features. This role owns MCC end-to-end: the caregiver experience, the health worker tools, the clinical workflows, and the AI layer that cuts across all of it. You will define what MCC becomes over the next three years, be accountable for both growth and outcomes, and lead an interdisciplinary team spanning product, clinical, data, and program functions to get there. WHAT YOU WILL DO Overall Model: Own the growth and operating model for MCC across user acquisition, activation, and retention at scale, including how MCC is positioned, priced, and deployed across government health systems and private partners AI-led Product Experience: Reimagine the delivery with an AI-first thinking. Reason through where AI owns, where it assists, and where the experts jump in. Embed AI with an eval-led approach iterating to improve accuracy, engagement, and behavior change.  Product Roadmap: Set and execute the product roadmap to improve the user experience across the full funnel. Work with country program teams to translate local context (language, literacy, health system constraints) into product decisions that hold across four countries Management & Execution: Deliver individually while also managing and mentoring a team of PMs, designers, clinicians across geographies.  Partnership & Advocacy: Represent the product with key internal and external stakeholders including health system partners, funders, leadership, and country teams to drive buy-in and unlock partnerships to drive MCC’s growth.   WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR A 0-to-1 builder/founder: You have taken at least one product from concept to production to scale in a resource-constrained environment and owned its outcomes. WHAT THE PLATFORMS & ENGINEERING TEAM DOES Our Platforms & Engineering team continuously innovates and builds new technology and products to improve health outcomes and save lives. We serve patients and family caregivers across India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal throughout their caregiving journeys. We also build solutions for frontline healthcare workers and internal engineering systems that power our larger programmatic work. OUR CURRENT STACK Our backend runs on Python with PostgreSQL on Google Cloud. We deliver our interventions through Exotel, Turn.io, RapidPro, other third-party tools, and a growing set of homegrown applications that connect us to caregivers and frontline workers. AI is a first-class part of how we build: we use coding assistants and agents in our day-to-day development, and we are actively building LLM-powered features into our products. We are a growing engineering team with emerging processes, and a meaningful part of this role is helping us refine them towards operational excellence without losing the velocity that a small team can offer. WHAT YOU WILL DO  We are looking for a Lead Engineer who will own the delivery of specific products and run focused engineering pods. This is a hands-on technical role with people management responsibilities. You will spend a meaningful share of your time directly writing code, creating engineering designs, reviewing, debugging, while also setting direction for a small team, growing their craft, and running the operating rhythm that turns plans into shipped products. You will work closely with colleagues across product, design, medical, and data. Own end-to-end delivery for your individual and pods’ roadmap, from scoping and architecture through release and post-release support. Set technical direction through engineering design reviews, ERDs, and clear written decision records, so engineers (and their AI tools) have a well-scoped spec to work with.   Build with AI as part of the product, not just around it. Identify where LLMs, retrieval, or agentic workflows genuinely improve caregiver and frontline-worker outcomes, and help ship those features. Write production code on critical paths, lead complex backend or full-stack changes, and stay close enough to the codebase and the associated tooling to make credible technical calls. Drive resolution of operational gaps in your area: alerting, on-call, incident response, tech debt, and security and compliance hygiene Stay close to how the craft is changing.
