What Standout does
Standout gives every talent and company an autonomous agent that represents them, assess the other side, and makes intros when it matters. Why it matters? Because this is hiring today: - Talent use AI to apply to 100s of jobs - this is spam. - Founders/Recruiting send 100s of AI-generated messages to hire the same talent - this is spam. This has to stop. Talent stays fully anonymous until they accept an intro. The best way for passively exploring the market and not missing a life changing opportunity. In 1 month, 10k talent / 60 companies / 100 intros.

What the role involves
To apply: run: npx standout standout-founding-eng upload results post your results on X and tag @standoutwork (https://x.com/standoutwork) in your post You’d own a full slice of Standout end-to-end — either the company experience (how hiring managers brief us, see talent, decide) or the talent experience (how the people we represent get found, profiled, and intro’d). UX, UI, and the conversational agent inside it. All of it. From Figma-equivalent to prod. The job is to make the agent unreasonably helpful. Most “AI products” feel like a chat box stapled to a CRUD app. Ours shouldn’t. The bar is: a hiring manager opens it, types one line, and gets something a senior recruiter would’ve taken a week to put together — and it looks beautiful. You’re a fit if: You ship fast and you ship taste. The product feels right when you build it. You’ve spent the last year deep in vibe-coding / Cursor / Claude Code / v0 — not as a curiosity, as your actual workflow. You come from one of: a real product or design background, a great builder who fell into code through AI, or an engineering background where the design instinct is just there. You care about the small things: empty states, copy, the shape of a button, what the agent says when it has nothing to say. You can hold an entire product surface in your head and own it without a PM. You’re not a fit if: You need a spec. You want to specialize in “the backend” or “the frontend.” You think AI is hype. You haven’t shipped something end-to-end in the last six months. The stack is Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind, Postgres + Prisma, Anthropic + LangGraph agents, OpenSearch. You’ll touch all of it. We don’t have a frontend team and a backend team — we have product engineers.
What the role involves
Standout is an AI-powered talent matching platform connecting great people with great companies. Our internal platform runs autonomously to a large extent - you’ll run on top of it, dogfood it every day, and fill the gaps where the AI can’t (yet). The goal: move people through fast and get as many hired as possible. The role A founding, do-everything ops role. You’ll run our pipeline, interview talent, launch campaigns, onboard companies, and own accounts on both sides. You’re the human in the loop pushing people from first contact to hired - and the person who tells us where the AI falls short so we can close the gap. What you’ll do Run the pipeline - own our kanban; keep every talent and company moving, never stalling. Interview talent - screen, qualify, and match the right people to the right roles. Run campaigns - launch multi-channel outreach to source talent and companies. Onboard companies - get them live and set up to win. Own accounts - be the trusted point of contact and deliver value to both sides. Dogfood the platform - live in it, fill the gaps the AI can’t cover yet, and tell us what to build next. Who you are Relentless go-getter energy. You move fast and make things happen. Highly organized; you juggle a lot without dropping anything. Strong communicator, comfortable interviewing strangers and pitching companies. Thrive in ambiguity; you build process rather than wait for it. Obsessed with outcomes - getting people hired is the goal. Why join Founding role, founding equity, and direct impact on whether people find great jobs and companies find great people.
What the role involves
You’d own a full slice of Standout end-to-end — not just “selling,” but shaping how the company finds, wins, and grows relationships with the best startups and talents in the world. You’d work directly with founders, hiring managers, and top-tier candidates. You’d understand what makes someone exceptional, what a company actually needs, and make the introductions that matter. You’d help define the entire go-to-market motion from scratch: outbound, inbound, partnerships, positioning, deal flow, and how an AI-native recruiting company should actually operate. The job is to make Standout impossible to ignore. Most recruiting firms feel transactional. Most outbound feels like spam. Ours shouldn’t. The bar is: a founder talks to Standout once and immediately feels like we understand their company better than recruiters they’ve worked with for years. You’re a fit if: You know how to create momentum from nothing. You’re great with people but also highly analytical. You have exceptional taste in startups, talent, and communication. You’re relentless about follow-up, details, and keeping relationships warm. You can sell a vision before the company fully exists. You move fast, improvise fast, and learn fast. You’ve probably done founder-led sales, recruiting, partnerships, community building, or something adjacent where trust and persuasion mattered. You naturally build networks everywhere you go. You’re not a fit if: You need a playbook. You want to inherit a mature sales org. You optimize for process over outcomes. You think recruiting is just matching resumes to job descriptions. You’re uncomfortable operating with ambiguity or intensity. You’ll work directly with the founders on everything from closing startups to refining positioning, building outbound systems, onboarding clients, and helping shape the future of AI-native hiring.
