What the role involves
At Rinse, we're building the One Medical for dental. Beautiful studios, easy to book visits, and anxiety-free care focused on prevention, not the upsell. We’re not interested in an incrementally better approach to dentistry... We're on a mission to remake it. From a state of the art, judgement free studio experience to the highest standards of care, we're committed to helping our patients prevent otherwise preventable issues. We call this -- modern mouth care. At the heart of it all is you, the dental hygienist. We know patients want to avoid the dentist and no amount of window dressing will ever make a filling or a root canal a great experience. This is why we genuinely believe that the dental hygienist is the undervalued linchpin that this industry and its patients desperately need. What we’re looking for We're looking for an experienced licensed registered dental hygienist (CA) with a passion for prevention and a patient-first mindset to build our hygiene department. As our first RDH hire, you'll work side by side with the dentist to deliver outstanding care while working to improve how hygiene is delivered. **Your goal is to make hygiene easy, fast and fun...**something patients enjoy and might want to get more frequently, think "Drybar for your smile". Requirements: *Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene *Valid CA RDH License *Current CPR/BLS certification *Minimum 3 years clinical experience in private practice or dental service organization *Willing and excited to step back from the status quo of dentistry to reimagine how hygiene is delivered *Must be comfortable with technology, including experience with Open Dental, DTX Studio, and 3Shape or equivalent software. *A team player that thrives in a collaborative and inclusive dental work environment What we offer Our focus is prevention which means we don't believe in traditional production based compensation. Instead, you can expect generous comp that allows you to focus on delivering the right care, in a state-of-the-art studio without the pressure of hitting production or sales goals. *$75 to $85 per hour *Medical, dental, and vision benefits *Oral health benefits at Rinse *401(k) benefits with a company match *Generous paid time off plus company holidays *Commuter benefits *New FIGS scrubs Flexible hours Our doctor is in studio Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm but we understand this schedule may not work for everyone. We're looking for 20 to 40 hours per week between Monday and Friday and will happily work with you to define a set of hours that works best for you and our patients. What you’ll do As a lead hygienist, you'll work alongside our dentist to design and deliver a set of hygiene experiences that patients enjoy and ultimately lead to better oral health outcomes. Along the way you'll have access to state-of-the-art technology and, as we grow, take point in the recruitment as hiring of our hygiene team. This includes: *Design and deliver on the hygiene workflow, everything from the welcome to the good-bye and all things in-between. *Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride, teeth whitening, and root planning *Document patient's teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and any abnormalities or suspected conditions Educate patients on oral hygiene and make personalized recommendations without any judgements to make our members feel safe, and to do whatever it takes to provide outstanding care. Where you'll work You'll work in our new, state-of-the-art studio at 1763 Union St, San Francisco. This is a four operatory practice designed for hygiene.
