Why This Role Exists We are putting recording equipment, mainly head straps, into the hands of contributors across Brazil. That means importing hardware, clearing customs, managing suppliers, and shipping to people in cities all over the country. Right now nobody owns this. It is unglamorous, and it is the bottleneck the entire Brazil operation runs through. What You Own The full physical pipeline. From supplier to customs to the contributor's door, you make sure the gear arrives. Import and customs. You bring hardware into Brazil and get it cleared without delays strangling the operation. Domestic distribution. Shipping, tracking, reverse logistics, replacements. The machine that has to run. Partners. You manage the suppliers and couriers we already use, and you go find better ones. The numbers. How fast a new contributor gets equipped, what each shipment costs, where things get stuck. You own those metrics and drive them in the right direction. Your First Month Week 1. Map the operation as it stands. Where gear comes from, how it moves, where it breaks. Week 2 to 3. Take ownership of suppliers and shipping. Fix the worst bottleneck first. Start sourcing better partners. Week 4. A working pipeline. Equipment reaching contributors on a predictable timeline, costs you can report, and a plan to scale it. Who You Are Based in São Paulo. Hybrid, not remote. You will be in our Itaim Bibi office and on top of the physical operation. A strong writer and speaker in English. You will coordinate with international suppliers, customs, and a US team daily. Strong written English is the one filter we do not bend on. Hands on with logistics. You have moved physical things through Brazil before, handled shipping and ideally customs and imports, and you know where operations like this fall apart. Fluent in the details. Incoterms, documentation, tracking, follow up. The boring precision is where this role is won. A problem solver under pressure. Your job is to make Brazil pay attention. What You Own Grow our Instagram and TikTok in Brazil. Instagram is the priority. You own the monthly content, the posting, and the numbers. Turn our contributor network into content. Hundreds of people across Brazil already record for Hub. Their stories are your raw material. Brief and direct local creators and agencies. You find them, you guide them, you keep them shipping. Read the Brazilian internet for us. Spot the trends, formats, and cultural moments worth jumping on, and bring proposals, not just screenshots. Work alongside our marketing lead, who runs global content and design. Brazil is yours. Your First Month Week 1. Live the product. Understand what a Hub contributor actually does and why their data matters. You cannot sell a story you do not understand. Week 2 to 3. Take over the Brazil accounts. Set the content rhythm. Line up your first creators. Ship. Week 4. A running Brazil social operation. Content going out consistently, your first creator collaborations live, and early growth you can point to. Who You Are Based in São Paulo. This role is hybrid, not remote. You will be in our Itaim Bibi office and out in the field. A sharp writer in English. You will work with a US team every day, mostly in writing. Strong written English is the one filter we do not bend on. Your spoken English needs to hold a call. A maker. Requirements: 3+ years of professional full stack engineering experience in production environments Strong Python skills and hands-on experience building and deploying production APIs with FastAPI Solid React experience — you've shipped real products used by real users, not just demos Deep command of SQL — you write and review complex queries, you spot slow ones, you fix them Hands-on PostgreSQL experience: indexing, query plan analysis, partitioning, connection pooling, schema design at scale Experience with background task processing systems (Celery, RQ, SQS, or equivalent) Familiarity with object storage (S3-compatible), containerization (Docker), and REST API design principles Ability to own features end-to-end: backend logic, database schema, frontend interface, deployment Key Responsibilities 1. Backend Development Design and maintain FastAPI services powering Hub's data collection and delivery pipeline. Build APIs consumed by internal tools, contributor interfaces, and client-facing integrations. Own reliability, performance, and documentation. 2. Database Performance Write, review, and optimize SQL queries for correctness and speed across high-volume datasets. Tune PostgreSQL performance: indexing, query plans, partitioning, connection pooling. Design schemas that scale with Hub's contributor network and project volume. 3. Frontend Development Build and iterate on React interfaces for contributors, internal ops, and client-facing dashboards. Translate complex data workflows into clean, usable UI. Maintain performance and responsiveness across all surfaces. 4. Async Pipeline Architecture Design and maintain background job systems that handle audio, image, and video file processing at scale. Own reliability and observability of async workflows. 5. Cross-Team Collaboration Work closely with ML engineers, DevOps, and the data team to ship integrated features.
