What the role involves
Hiring accountants to help us scale Combinely across leading UK accounting firms. This is not a traditional accounting role. We’re looking for an ambitious accountant who wants to move fast, work directly with customers, and help shape the future of how accounting work gets done. About Combinely Combinely is building an AI coworker for accountants. Accounting firms are under huge pressure: shrinking talent pools, rising client expectations, and too much repetitive work across emails, documents, spreadsheets, tax research, and review. Combinely bridges the gap with Coco – an AI coworker that works inside accounting firms’ existing workflows to produce client-ready work, automate repetitive tasks, and help teams deliver higher quality work faster. Built by an ex-Google/Deloitte team, we’re growing fast, backed by top investors, and already live inside leading accounting firms across the world. What you’ll do Deliver magic – work directly with accounting firms to understand their workflows, build AI agents, and help customers get real value from Coco. Talk to customers – shadow accountants, identify painful manual processes, and translate them into repeatable AI workflows. Build the playbook – help define how Combinely onboards firms, trains users, designs agents, and delivers exceptional customer service. You’ll be a fit if you are: Accounting-native: you understand how accounting firms actually work, from client emails and document chasing to tax, accounts production, review, or advisory. Customer-obsessed: you love solving real customer problems and measure success by whether teams save time and get better work done. High agency: you default to action, figure things out quickly, and leave customers, workflows, and processes better than you found them. AI-curious: you’re excited by what AI can do for accountants and want to help shape how it gets adopted in practice. Your experience Requirements 2+ years experience in an accounting firm, ideally in tax, accounts, audit, advisory, or client-facing work. Strong understanding of accounting firm workflows and the day-to-day work accountants do. Comfortable working directly with customers and building trusted relationships. Happy to work in-person with customers and travel where needed. Authorised to work in the UK. Nice to haves ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA, or similar qualification. Familiarity with tools like CCH, IRIS, Xero, QuickBooks, TaxCalc, Karbon, Senta, Bright, or AccountancyManager. Interview process We aim to move fast – you can expect an offer within 2 weeks from the first call. Founder call, 30 mins – get to know each other, the role and make sure we’re on the same page. Practical task (take-home) – a realistic workflow design task you might take on at Combinely. On-site interview, 2h – meet the team, deep-dive on your task and walk through past experience.. Why join now Impact – help define how AI gets adopted across accounting firms and reshape an entire industry. Mentorship + autonomy – work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founders, not through layers of management. Own meaningful equity – enough to not need another job if we succeed. We look forward to seeing your application!
