What the role involves
This is a sales role. Your job is to find buyers, build relationships with compute users, understand what capacity they need, and close transactions. You will work directly with the founders to build Pluto’s compute sales motion from the ground up. This means sourcing customers, managing the pipeline, negotiating deals, and turning conversations into revenue. The ideal candidate is hungry, persistent, commercially sharp, and excited to sell one of the most important resources in the AI economy: GPU compute. What You’ll Do Sell GPU compute capacity to AI labs, startups, enterprises, research groups, and other compute buyers Build and manage a pipeline of customers looking for H100, H200, B200, A100, L40S, and other GPU capacity Source new buyers through outbound, referrals, existing relationships, conferences, and ecosystem mapping Understand customer needs across GPU type, region, duration, price, networking, storage, and deployment requirements Match buyers with available compute supply from neoclouds and infrastructure providers Negotiate pricing, contract terms, volume, duration, and delivery expectations Own customer relationships from first conversation through close Work closely with the founders on sales strategy, customer prioritization, and market feedback Maintain strong relationships with buyers and become their first call when they need compute Help Pluto understand real-time market pricing, demand, and customer behavior What We’re Looking For Strong sales instincts and comfort doing outbound Ability to build trust quickly with technical and commercial buyers High urgency, persistence, and willingness to chase deals aggressively Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to operate in an early-stage, ambiguous environment Comfort selling technical products or services Deep interest in AI infrastructure, cloud, GPUs, and compute markets Ability to manage a pipeline, follow up relentlessly, and close revenue Commercial creativity and willingness to figure things out from zero Nice to Have Existing relationships with AI labs, startups, enterprises, neoclouds, brokers, or infrastructure teams Experience selling cloud, GPUs, data center capacity, infrastructure, SaaS, or technical services Experience in brokerage, trading, commodities, marketplaces, or financial sales Understanding of GPU supply and demand dynamics Familiarity with H100s, H200s, B200s, A100s, L40S, clusters, cloud contracts, or AI workloads Compensation & Benefits This role includes a competitive compensation package designed to reward performance and ownership. Competitive base salary Performance-based bonus and/or commission tied to closed compute revenue Equity in Pluto Health insurance Dental and vision coverage Flexible work environment Opportunity to work directly with the founders High upside as Pluto scales its compute brokerage and platform business For the right person, this is a high-leverage sales role with meaningful upside. You will have the opportunity to directly drive revenue, own major customer relationships, and help build the commercial foundation of a new AI infrastructure market. Why Join Pluto Compute is becoming the core commodity of the AI economy. AI companies need GPUs, neoclouds need distribution, and the market is still early, fragmented, and inefficient. Pluto sits directly in the middle of that market. This is an opportunity to become one of the first dedicated sales hires in a category that is growing extremely quickly. You will help define how GPU capacity is bought, sold, priced, and distributed across the AI ecosystem. If you want a role where closed deals directly matter, customer relationships are everything, and upside is tied to performance, this is the opportunity.
What the role involves
About Pluto Pluto is building the financial infrastructure for superintelligence. Compute is the bottleneck of the AI economy, but it is extremely opaque, volatile, and difficult to finance. Pluto is the first exchange with a materially complete designation from the CFTC to make compute a liquid, tradable asset class. This is a chance to build the defining financial asset class of AI from the ground-up. The Role This is a dual-mandate role. You will serve as the financial backbone of a pending CFTC-designated clearinghouse and exchange (DCM/DCO) and own everything that a regulated entity requires from a financial controls and accounting standpoint while functioning as our senior strategic finance partner for the compute side of the business: structuring GPU reservation contracts, managing relationships with neoclouds, and building the financial architecture that makes compute a tradable, financeable asset class. Responsibilities Clearinghouse and Exchange Finance (DCM/DCO) Own all financial reporting, accounting, and internal controls required of a CFTC-regulated DCM/DCO, including net capital computation, financial resource requirements, and regulatory capital buffers Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling across the exchange and clearinghouse entities; own the monthly close and board reporting package Oversee cash flow management, treasury operations, and capital structure — ensuring the firm maintains required financial resources under CFTC Core Principles at all times Serve as the primary finance interface with the CFTC, NFA, and external auditors; own the annual financial statements and any required regulatory filing Strategic Finance and Compute Structure and negotiate GPU reservation contracts with neoclouds, evaluating committed tier pricing, utilization assumptions, and break-even economics against our clearing price index Build the financial models that underpin our yield management business: reserved input cost vs. clearing price spread, utilization curves, margin at various pool compositions, and sensitivity to on-demand price movements Partner with founders on capital raises, investor reporting, and any structured financing tied to upstream compute contracts Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred Deep knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP accounting, internal controls, and financial statement preparation Experience managing capital structure, liquidity, and cash flow at a company where financial resource adequacy was a board-level concern Familiarity with regulated financial entity finance, either with an exchange, clearinghouse, bank, broker-dealer, etc. Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills; comfortable building from scratch, not just maintaining inherited models Preferred Qualifications Direct experience at a neocloud (CoreWeave, Nebius, Lambda, or comparable) in a finance, strategic finance, or FP&A capacity Relationships with infrastructure-focused credit lenders, banks, or debt capital markets teams that have financed compute or data center assets Understanding of GPU economics: reserved vs. on-demand pricing tiers, utilization dynamics, hardware depreciation curves, and how AI demand cycles affect capacity pricing Prior experience at a CFTC-regulated entity (DCM, DCO, FCM) or financial infrastructure company (exchange, clearinghouse, payments) Background in yield management, capacity markets, or commodity trading finance What We're Looking For Someone who can interface with neoclouds, lenders, and regulators simultaneously A builder: this is a 0-to-1 finance function; you will establish the accounting systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure, not inherit them Genuine interest in compute markets and AI infrastructure, not just the financial wrapper around them
What the role involves
We are looking for a Founding AI Infrastructure Engineer to build Pluto’s compute platform from the ground up. This person will own the technical backbone of Pluto’s compute business: customer-facing APIs, provider integrations, provisioning workflows, cluster lifecycle management, billing/metering infrastructure, and the internal tools needed to scale beyond manual brokerage. You will work directly with the founders to transform messy, real-world compute procurement into clean software abstractions. The goal is to let customers request, launch, manage, and pay for GPU clusters through Pluto, while Pluto handles routing, provisioning, and orchestration across underlying neoclouds. This is a deeply technical, high-ownership role for someone who wants to build core infrastructure at the intersection of AI, cloud, marketplaces, and financial infrastructure. What You’ll Do Design and build Pluto’s customer-facing compute API for provisioning and managing GPU clusters Build control-plane systems for cluster orchestration, lifecycle management, and state tracking Integrate with neoclouds, GPU providers, and infrastructure partners through APIs, Kubernetes, VMs, bare metal, and manual/semi-automated workflows Create provider abstraction layers that normalize fragmented infrastructure into a unified Pluto resource model Build internal tooling to replace manual brokerage workflows with repeatable, scalable software systems Develop metering and usage-tracking systems for GPU-hours, storage, networking, and customer billing Build systems for capacity discovery, quoting, reservations, and provider routing Work closely with customers to understand how AI teams want to launch, manage, and scale compute Improve reliability, observability, and operational visibility across provisioned clusters Define clean interfaces between Pluto, customers, and underlying compute providers Write production-quality code and make foundational architecture decisions for the platform What We’re Looking For Strong backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering background Experience building APIs, control planes, orchestration systems, or infrastructure automation Strong systems fundamentals across Linux, networking, storage, and distributed systems Experience with Kubernetes, VMs, containers, or bare-metal infrastructure Ability to build reliable services in Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, or similar languages Comfort working with cloud APIs, infrastructure-as-code tools, schedulers, and provisioning workflows Ability to turn messy operational processes into clean product abstractions Strong product sense around APIs, defaults, developer experience, reliability, and operational simplicity High agency and comfort operating in an early-stage startup environment Excellent written communication and ability to document technical decisions clearly Nice to Have Hands-on experience with GPU infrastructure or AI workloads Experience with H100, H200, B200, A100, L40S, or similar GPU environments Experience building systems around Kubernetes, Slurm, Ray, or other cluster managers Experience with multi-tenant infrastructure platforms Experience building billing, metering, quota, or usage-based pricing systems Experience at a cloud provider, neocloud, AI infrastructure company, or high-growth developer infrastructure startup Familiarity with AI training, inference, model-serving, or distributed workloads Experience designing APIs, CLIs, SDKs, or developer-facing infrastructure products Why Join Pluto Compute is becoming the core commodity of the AI economy, but the market is still extremely fragmented. AI companies need GPUs, neoclouds need distribution, and there is no clean software layer connecting demand to supply. Pluto is building that layer. You will have the opportunity to design and build the first version of Pluto’s compute platform, work directly with customers and providers, and turn a manual brokerage business into a scalable infrastructure marketplace.
