What Wefunder does

We help everyone invest in startups that they care about. We believe that when all Americans can invest in innovation, the world will be a better place. And soon, our dream will become a reality. Thanks to the JOBS Act, everyone — not just the wealthy — can invest as little as $100 in the startups they care about. Not only does this open up the pool of investors, and increase the amount of great ideas that get funded, but it allows startups to grow an army of passionate investors who truly want to see them succeed. Second tier VC’s will become obsolete as startups tap their lead users and customers for quick early investments.

Head of Sales, Syndicates

What the role involves

About Wefunder We've raised over a billion dollars for thousands of founders in all 50 states, from ostrich farms to unicorns like Substack, Replit, & Mercury. We're a Public Benefit Corporation with a mission to keep the American dream alive. We're fighting to keep America defined by optimism, innovation, and opportunity—the best place for the ambitious to turn ideas into reality. We believe America is full of untapped talent, and that helping more founders get off the ground leads to a better future. Our goal is to help 20,000 more founders get off the ground. We're just getting started. We're a team of founder types: enjoy autonomy, responsibility, the opportunity to learn, and no red tape. Just make it happen. The Role Wefunder Syndicates lets angel investors and fund managers pool capital to back startups together. It's a fast-growing part of our business — and we need someone to own it. You'll be our first dedicated sales hire for Syndicates. That means building the playbook from scratch: finding the right leads, closing deals, and figuring out what makes syndicate leads choose us over the alternatives. You'll work directly with angel investors, rolling fund managers, and VCs who want a better way to bring their communities into deals. This isn't enterprise sales with a 12-month cycle. It's fast, relationship-driven, and founder-like. You'll be talking to people who invest for a living — they're sharp, they move quickly, and they don't have patience for fluff. If you can earn their trust and show them why Wefunder is the best platform for their syndicate, you'll do extremely well here. We're very good at figuring out visa sponsorship when required. Location & Culture We're strong believers in an in-person culture. Our HQ is in San Francisco — we have two offices, one in the Mission and one in Seacliff with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We're a small team of ~30 that hires carefully. In this new AI world, one star can outcompete 10 average people. We'd rather stay lean, move fast, and spend our time building — not navigating big-company bureaucracy. We're tight-knit enough to spend 10 days on a train together without killing each other. Four times over the years, we've all taken the Amtrak coast to coast, stopping in 12 cities. We're a team of doers and thinkers who are insatiably curious — not just about work, but about kickboxing, mountaineering, chess, and everything in between. Read our Favorite Books →Culture → What We're Looking For Own the pipeline end-to-end. Source, qualify, and close syndicate leads — from first outreach to signed deal. No SDR team, no hand-offs. You run the whole show. Build the playbook. We don't have a sales playbook for Syndicates yet. You'll create one. Figure out who our best customers are, what messaging resonates, and how to scale what works. Be the voice of the customer. You'll be talking to angel investors and fund managers every day. Feed what you learn back to product and engineering so we build the right things. Your insights will shape the roadmap. Close with conviction. You genuinely believe in what we're building. You're not reading a script — you understand how syndicates work, why Wefunder is different, and you can articulate that to sophisticated investors on the fly. Move fast and iterate. Try channels, test pitches, kill what doesn't work. We'd rather you run 10 experiments and fail on 7 than spend a month perfecting a deck. Requirements Investor fluency You understand how venture capital, angel investing, and syndicates actually work. You can speak the language — carry, management fees, SPVs, pro-rata — without faking it. Closer, not a talker You have a track record of actually closing deals, not just filling pipelines. You know how to create urgency without being pushy and how to handle objections from smart, skeptical people. Founder energy You operate like a founder — resourceful, scrappy, and relentless. You don't wait for leads to come to you. You

Internship - Customer Success

What the role involves

We help everyday people invest in the startups they love. Wefunder is the largest funding platform connecting founders with their community to become investors. Over the past few years, we've helped fund thousands of startups with over $1B+ in capital, from early-stage moonshots to wildly successful unicorns. In 2021, regulatory reform put Community Rounds on the map. Since then, we’ve helped startups like Substack, Mercury, Levels, and many others raise money from their customers and community. We built this space from the ground up. Now we're hiring a Customer Success Intern to help our investors, build useful tools with AI, and make the whole operation run better. This is a position based out of our headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Our Dream Candidate You’re energized by helping people. When somebody's confused or stuck, your first instinct is to actually solve their problem, not hide behind a canned response. You thrive in fast-paced environments and you’re constantly teaching yourself new things. You’re organized, accountable, and have incredibly high standards. You sweat the small stuff when it matters. Money, taxes, legal paperwork. You double-check, then you triple-check. You love building better systems and want to leave your mark by making things better. You've never vibe-coded before? Cool. You just have to seriously want to learn. If the idea of working with an AI agent to build a tool sounds exciting (not scary), keep reading. You don't need hand-holding. If something's broken, you poke at it. If you don't know the answer, you go find it. If you said you'd do something, it gets done. Responsibilities This is a 6-month internship, July through December. Here's what you'll actually be doing: Talking to investors. You'll be on email threads and video calls helping real humans figure out real problems: wrong tax form, lost login, "wait, what did I invest in again?" You'll start with the easier stuff and work your way up. Learning to vibe-code. We'll set you up with Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex on day one. You don't need to know them yet. You do need to get good at them, fast. We'll help. Fixing bugs. When something breaks in the investor flow, you'll dig in. Reproduce it, figure out what's going on, and eventually ship fixes yourself. Building tools for the team. Scripts, Slackbots, mini-dashboards, whatever saves us time. Your first one will probably be rough. By December, your output should be useful and impressively powerful. Helping out when things get a bit chaotic. Taxes, big raises, and seasonal volume. You roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. Noticing patterns. If ten investors ask you the same question, that's a help doc waiting to happen, or a bug, or a product gap the team should know about. You'll flag it and own the solution. Skills & Experience You're reliable. If you said you'd do it, you do it. You follow up to the very last detail. You thrive in ambiguity. That should sound fun, not stressful. You communicate and write like a human. Clear, warm, no jargon, no "per my last email." You're fired up about AI. You don't need to have used these tools before, but you do need to want to learn them badly enough to spend evenings poking around and getting up-to-speed. You're in school, a recent graduate, or taking a gap year. Any major. Customer-facing experience is highly preferred. Compensation $25/hour This is an internship opportunity. No benefits, 401(k), equity, etc. You’ll get a laptop and a seat at our San Francisco headquarters. How to Apply Submit your application via our listing on YC’s Work At A Startup platform. We love personal touches. Feel free to send us a message and include one of the following (totally optional, but brownie points!): Survival Skills: One skill you’d offer the team in a post-apocalyptic world. Overnight Expert: You wake up and you are an expert in any skill you want. What do you choose and why? Oh Shit Moment: Tell us about your biggest “oh shit!” momen

The Role You'll report directly to the CEO and lead design across the entire company. Good design is incredibly important to us. We believe beautiful software is the sum of thousands of small details, done just right, guided by good taste. We're looking for someone obsessed with nailing those details. Someone that will not only "make it pretty", but who is excited to figure out what our users — both founders and investors — actually want. You will help guard the "soul" of our product. Wefunder moves real money. People are making investment decisions on our platform. The difference between a UI that feels trustworthy and one that feels sketchy often comes down to the micro-details: timing curves, easing functions, loading states, transitions between views. Dream Candidate Our dream candidate is a restless founder between startups, willing to commit a year. You likely finished a grueling grind and need to recover before jumping back into the next adventure. You know - like us - that the job of an investor is so much easier than a founder. But you also know - eventually - the siren call of another startup will beckon. The success or failure of your prior startup doesn't matter. What does matter is empathy for founders. The perfect candidate commands respect from founders: you've been in the trenches... and your advice proves to be true, more often than not. In addition to empathy, we're also looking for intellectual curiosity and humbleness. One of the most fun parts of this job is to help founders in very different industries - not just tech. Are you the kind of person that would be excited to learn about the economics of ostrich farms? We're your people. We believe founders who "have been there and done that" make the best early-stage investors. That's why we're hiring a Founder-in-Residence. Location & Culture Must be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate. We're strong believers in an in-person culture. Our HQ is in San Francisco — we have two offices, one in the Mission and one in Seacliff with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Read our Favorite Books →Culture → Things You Could Do You will work directly with Wefunder's founder & CEO, and we will design the role for your unique superpowers and interests. Read our Charter, and tell us how you'd like to help. Here are some options: Help a founder with the pitch. Most founders can't pitch their company. They often use jargon and fancy words. You understand that a 10 year old has to grok what they are doing in 5 seconds. You know what gets investors excited. Channel pg. Discover formidable early founders. You often spot founders - with no external stamps of credibility - before they have succeeded. You don't follow the herd. You can sense founders who "have what it takes" after a half hour... not after a16z backs them. Be a connector. You enjoy matching founders with the people who can help them. It could be a potential customer, a co-founder, key investor, or a domain expert — you're the person who makes the right connection at the right time. Fix America, not just SF. We've taken multiple train trips across the country to meet local founders. You would be offended if you knew how the local "angels" operate. We aim to give more power to the smart investors in these cities, so they outcompete those that lead founders astray with horrible advice. Run the fellowship. You'll co-design and run our fellowships. This includes selecting companies, mentoring founders, running weekly programming, and preparing them for Demo Day and fundraising. Product / Design Feedback. We're big believers of the YC ethos: build quickly, talk to users, repeat fast. We favor product thinkers wh

The Role We're looking for engineers who can help us wrangle complex systems and delight users along the way. Over 70% of our new code is AI-generated. We're not just using AI — we're deep in the weeds figuring out how to build reliable, production-grade software with it. What does code review look like when 500 agents made a PR last night? How do you maintain quality across a codebase when everyone in the company is vibe coding? These are the questions we're answering in real time, and this role is at the center of that. We want someone who's excited to shape that playbook — to experiment with new tools, push the boundaries of what's possible, and help define how a small team punches way above its weight with AI as a force multiplier. As a Wefunder engineer, you'll have a tremendous amount of influence, the ability to make a huge impact, and be expected to work on a little of everything. There's no red tape. It's a small team, and we move fast. Read our Favorite Books →Culture → What We're Looking For Complexity wrangler We move money, deal with securities law, and serve both founders and investors. Our systems are complex by nature. You're someone who can navigate that complexity and keep things simple where it counts. Thrives in chaos Ability to deal with the chaos and ambiguity of a startup. Things change, surprises happen. There will be uncertainties in and out of our control. Our job is to ship product and keep the money flowing. Sweats the details We're building a platform where people invest real money. Every pixel, every error state, every edge case matters. You care about the user experience as much as the architecture underneath it. AI-excited You're genuinely excited about AI tools and figuring out the new playbook. Over 70% of new code is AI-generated. We're rewriting the rules of how software gets built, and we want people who are energized by that — not threatened by it. Requirements Smart > experienced We don't care what languages or frameworks you've used before. If you're smart, you'll figure it out. We use Rails and React, but what matters is that you can build things that work. AI-native You are on the bleeding edge of AI tools. You use Cursor, Codex, Claude, or whatever's your favorite CLI — not as a novelty, but as a core part of how you generate code and think through problems. Full stack You can build and ship a feature end-to-end. Frontend, backend, database, deploy. No hand-of
