Integrations Engineer
New York, NY, USFull-time1+ years$120K - $165K0.01% - 0.10% equityVisa: US citizen/visa only
What the role involves

Location: Hybrid- NYC (3+ days in office required) Type: Full-time W-2 employee, subject to a 90-day introductory period Salary and equity commensurate with experience and performance About the Role You will own Aviary's connectivity layer: the integrations that move data between our platform and the systems of record our clients run on - banking cores (Jack Henry, Fiserv, etc.), loan origination systems, and core middleware platforms. You'll also own the other side of the equation: Aviary's external API surface, which clients and partners use to push data in and pull results out. This is a builder role, not a project-management role. You'll spend most of your time writing code -Python services, data pipelines, transformation logic, API endpoints - and the rest working with client technical teams to get integrations live and keep them healthy. You'll be the first dedicated integrations hire and the in-house authority on how credit union systems actually behave in the wild You'll report to the CDO and work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and our Customer Success & Delivery team. What You'll Own Build and maintain core & LOS integrations. Design, develop, and operate the connections between Aviary and client systems of record- real-time core API integrations, batch file exchanges (fixed-width, pipe-delimited, CSV), and everything in between. Own data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation for member, account, loan, and contact data. Own Aviary's external API. Take charge of our client-facing API surface: endpoint design, versioning, authentication, documentation, and developer experience. Keep our external docs accurate and make our API the easiest part of any client's integration project. Support client integration projects. Serve as the technical counterpart to client IT teams and core/middleware vendors during implementation - scoping data requirements, reviewing sample files, debugging connectivity, and certifying integrations through core vendor programs. Harden the pipeline. Build monitoring, alerting, retry logic, and data quality checks so integration failures surface before they disrupt call campaigns. Triage and resolve production integration issues - malformed files, schema drift, credential expirations - with urgency and a paper trail. Codify the patterns. Turn one-off integration work into reusable connectors, internal tooling, and documentation so each new client onboards faster than the last. What We're Looking For 2+ years of hands-on integration or backend engineering in legacy systems, including work with legacy formats and protocols - SOAP/XML/WSDL, fixed-width and delimited files, SFTP, and batch scheduling. Modern tooling is great; our clients' systems don't always agree. Direct experience integrating with at least one banking core - Jack Henry, Fiserv, etc. - via APis (SOAP or REST) and/or batch file exchange. You know what a core conversion weekend feels like, at least secondhand. Strong API fundamentals: REST design, authentication patterns ( OAuth, API keys, SAML/SSO awareness), webhooks, versioning, and writing documentation developers actually use. Fluent SQL and comfort working with relational data models for members, accounts, loans, and transactions. Experience with Postgres is a plus. Clear, patient communication with non-engineering audiences - client IT staff, core vendor support, and our CSD team. You can explain a GUID format mismatch to someone who has never seen one. Sound judgment with sensitive data. Our clients are regulated financial institutions; you treat member data accordingly and are comfortable working within SOC 2, GLBA, and NCUA-adjacent compliance expectations. Nice to Have Experience with loan origination systems or lending data workflows. Familiarity with CUFX or core middleware/connectivity platforms. Experience going through a core vendor certification or integration program. AWS experience (Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, S3) and CI/CD w

Full Stack Engineer-SMS & RCS Agents
New York, NY, USFull-timeAny (new grads ok)$100K - $130K0.01% - 0.15% equityVisa: US citizen/visa only
What the role involves

Location: Hybrid- NYC (3+ days in office required) Type: Full-time W-2 employee, subject to a 90-day introductory period Salary and equity commensurate with experience and performance About AviaryAI We build AI voice agents for banks, credit unions, and insurers. Our agents are live and handling real customer calls today. We’re backed by Y Combinator and growing. We started with voice. Our SMS and RCS agents began as clones of the voice product — and they’re growing fast. Messaging is becoming a major part of our platform, and it needs a dedicated owner The Role You’ll be a full stack engineer working across our platform — and you’ll head the engineering effort on our SMS and RCS expansion.  This means:  Leading the engineering effort to evolve our SMS and RCS agents from voice-agent clones into a messaging-native product — rich cards, suggested replies, media, session handling  Writing the backend logic that manages conversation state and decision-making (Python)  Building internal dashboards and tools to configure and debug agents (TypeScript)  Contributing to our core frontend application as needed  Integrating with messaging providers and carrier infrastructure — delivery, 10DLC, opt-in/opt-out  Debugging real production issues when things break  You’ll own the messaging vertical from prototype to high-volume production.  This is not a ticket-driven role. You’ll have a lot of responsibility and a lot of autonomy.  What We’re Looking For 1–3 years full stack experience (new grads welcome)  Strong in Python  Comfortable in TypeScript / modern frontend frameworks  Experience building systems with real state or multi-step workflows  Comfortable integrating third-party APIs  Able to work without detailed specs   Bonus if you’ve worked in: Startups  Fintech / insurance  Messaging or telephony systems (Twilio, Telnyx, Bandwidth, SMS compliance)  LLM applications (prompting, agent frameworks, evals)   What This Is Like You won’t just be building CRUD endpoints.  You’ll be building systems that:  Decide what to say next in a live conversation — hours or days after the last message  Enforce business rules and compliance requirements (TCPA, carrier filtering, quiet hours)  Handle messy, real-world edge cases  Run thousands of concurrent conversations reliably   Your code will power real conversations with real customers — and unlike voice, every word is in writing.

Software Engineer, QA & Test Automation
New York, NY, USFull-time1+ years$100K - $150K0.01% - 0.15% equityVisa: US citizen/visa only
What the role involves

Location: Hybrid- NYC (3+ days in office required) Type: Full-time W-2 employee, subject to a 90-day introductory period Salary and equity commensurate with experience and performance About the Role  Aviary AI is looking for a Software Engineer focused on QA and test automation (90-day probationary period) to own quality across our voice agent and software deployments. You’ll sit at the edge of our deployment cycle with real authority over what ships — starting hands-on with manual QA, then building the tooling that automates it, and ultimately owning the systems that keep our agents reliable as we scale.  The Objective  Own quality for our voice agent and software deployments, and automate as much of that QA as possible. You start by manually QA’ing deployments using our existing tooling, then build the systems that make most of that manual work disappear. Once those systems exist, you own and run them.  The Arc of the Role  This role has a clear progression:  Manual QA (now). Run quality checks on voice agent deployments using our in-platform QA suite in Aviary Web (chat, voice, and adversarial testing) plus standard testing for our software releases. Get deep on where deployments break and what “ready to ship” actually means.  Build the automation. Turn that manual process into tooling. Extend our adversarial testing framework (Blue-Jay) and our automated campaign-review agent (Coach) so the bulk of QA runs without a human in the loop.  Own the systems. Once the automation is live, your job becomes managing and evolving these codebases — keeping Blue-Jay, Coach, and the Aviary Web QA suite sharp as our deployment volume grows.  Responsibilities  Own the quality bar for voice agent and software deployments — you decide what ships, what waits, and what needs more work.  Design and maintain automated test and evaluation suites across our voice agent stack and standard software pipelines.  Build tooling that replaces manual QA, focusing on automation, scalability, and reliable release gating.  Take part in the design and architecture of testing and evaluation infrastructure across the product.  Help shape team culture, internal tools, and the processes around how we ship.  What You’ll Work With  Aviary Web QA suite — the in-platform testing tools (React/Next.js, TypeScript) covering chat, voice, and adversarial testing of agent configs, with automated grading against success definitions.  Blue-Jay — our adversarial testing framework (Python) that generates customer personas and runs text and phone battles against agents to probe edge cases and failure modes.  Coach — our run-to-completion agent (Python) that reviews campaigns, analyzes flagged calls, proposes config changes, and validates them through Blue-Jay before reporting to human reviewers.  Qualifications  BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.  1–3 years of software development experience (including internships); strong new grads will be considered.  Proficiency in React/Next.js, with experience building responsive, scalable web applications.  Strong general programming ability — Python and TypeScript both matter, since our stack spans both.  Familiarity with AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS) and cloud architecture for deploying scalable solutions.  Familiarity with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including writing and optimizing queries.  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.  Nice to Haves  Experience with test automation, CI, or evaluation frameworks. Work in natural language processing, machine learning, recommendation systems, or large-scale production search/ranking systems. Prior experience with LLM or voice agent evaluation and adversarial testing. UX/UI experience a plus (i.e. Figma).  What We Offer Equity Hybrid work - 3+ days in our NYC office Health, dental, and vision coverage Unlimit
