We do this through our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare professionals with the workplaces that need amazing workers. This enables hundreds of thousands of people to achieve financial stability for themselves and their families while providing essential care to millions of people across the U.S. Founded in 2016, we are a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company and have been profitable since 2022. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities. We are a globally distributed team with folks from the United States, Canada, India, Germany, Brazil… and more! Our values center around customer centricity, urgency, curiosity, and ownership. We are all empowered to fix the problems we see, there are no “toes” to be stepped on. A team went off and created a new SaaS product, another team rewrote a core service under a new architecture. We believe in our collective mission and do what it takes to move the needle on that goal. You can learn more about our engineering team on our candidate hub. Our Platform Engineers Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure using Terraform , ensuring reproducibility, security, and automation across environments. Develop and support backend services using TypeScript , NestJS , and Node.js , interfacing with MongoDB and Postgres databases to ensure performance and reliability. Manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure on AWS , leveraging services like EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and more to support application and platform needs. Build reusable infrastructure modules and internal tooling to empower product engineering teams and improve development velocity. Own the full lifecycle of platform features: from design and implementation to monitoring and supporting them in production. Work in a globally distributed, 100% remote team with asynchronous workflows and high ownership culture. You have hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and production systems, with a strong DevOps mindset. You’ve built and supported web and backend systems using modern cloud-native tools and frameworks. You’re excited by infrastructure as code, automation, and driving platform-level improvements that support other engineering teams. You enjoy working deeply on technical systems but also communicate clearly and proactively with the team. Talking to users or teammates to understand pain points and drive solutions energizes you. Operations Associate
Remote (US)Full-time1+ yearsVisa: US citizen/visa only
What the role involves

About Clipboard Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. Overview The Operations Strategy Associate role is a generalist role at Clipboard suited for the “all-around athlete” type who can do it all and wants exposure to a range of problems and opportunities. You’re likely someone who’s interested in and capable of solving different problem types, you’re resourceful, adaptable, and confident you can figure it out if you can sink your teeth in deep enough. These are the ingredients for a problem-solver who is eager to flex into multiple different types of roles and responsibilities depending on what’s needed and most impactful. While we know that you'll likely start working within one of our Operations teams, we don’t know exactly what work or projects you’ll drive out of the gate, so you’ll notice the work we’re advertising isn’t entirely specific. Some candidates may begin in more execution-focused roles within Operations (similar to CX), depending on their strengths, while others may take on project or team leadership earlier on. But we’ll make a few promises about the role: it will be high-impact, fast-paced work that directly affects our customers, product, and business. In terms of “what might I actually do” – here’s a list of example initiatives to give you an idea: Redesign our process for reaching out to workplaces about converting them to new methods of payment, such as getting customers who send checks to start paying us via eCheck to speed up the cash conversion process. Research, vet, and onboard a new vendor that embeds AI agents into our customer-facing efforts. Build an internal predictive analytics model to catch bad payers earlier with high accuracy. Spearhead a quality task force that ensures top quality for our biggest customers. Manage a team of agents within one of our Operations teams. Work directly within workflows, including handling customer interactions, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to improve the front line processes. Who we're looking for We find those who are most successful in this type of role: Are insatiably curious and notice non-obvious clues and patterns: Curiosity sits atop our company values. Understanding something from first principles and getting to the root cause of the problem will often reveal the best solution, and a natural and unwavering curiosity to keep asking questions and digging will take you most of the way. Roll up their sleeves and go to the source: There are multiple ways to say this: touching reality, dogfooding, seeing for yourself, going to the front-lines, etc. Don’t just take someone’s word for it – go find out yourself by testing the feature, or listening to the agent call, or calling the customer, or executing the workflow. This is how you seek truth. Bring a tenacity and persistence to problem-solving: You’ll hit walls and find yourself in uncertain and unfamiliar situations. If you can sit with the uncertainty, look at the problem from new angles, and keep applying pressure to a problem – you’ll position yourself for breakthroughs. Bounce back from failure quickly: You’ll make mistakes, move in the wrong direction, and stumble from time-to-time. Just avoid big mistakes and don’t make the same mistakes twice, and learn from

About Clipboard Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. About The Team: This role sits within our People team, but we're not your typical People team. We aren’t focused on writing policies or telling people what they can’t do; we’re problem chasers, focused on identifying the most important jobs to be done in order to best support the organization. If you ask anyone here what they think about our team, we will hope they would say: “They enforce high standards across the org,” “They are my go-to resource to think through tough people problems,” and “They are some of the most strategic thinkers and problem solvers in the org”. About This Opportunity Honestly, we think your typical JD is deceptively unhelpful for high-growth startups. We're a team of entrepreneurial problem solvers who get excited about making the lives of our internal customers (Clipboard team members) better and building a next-generation People function. The day-to-day of the role constantly are constantly shifting, but here’s some examples of what you can expect to do: Partner with leaders and managers across the company on key personnel decisions and challenges. This could include everything from designing an automation to help a team with a hiring push, to conducting exit conversations, to coaching a manager through a decision about a leave of absence, and everything in between. Conduct quarterly departmental “audits” that dive deep into each team and use these findings to partner with department leaders to create strategic and impactful changes that improve how each team, and our company as a whole, operates. Own and execute initiatives that have team-wide or organizational-wide impact, such as running point on a new system implementation or rebuilding a core onboarding or offboarding process. Notice and constantly solve problems of all kinds. You notice what’s not working, connect the dots, and take ownership of making it better. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant opportunities for skill development and expanded influence within the organization. Please note that this position does not include a direct path to people management within the People team. You can learn more about us through our Candidate Hub, our careers page and this video from Carmen on our Strategy & Operations team, providing more details on the role and answering some of the most frequently asked questions. The Ideal Candidate Likely won’t come from a traditional HR background - while this role sits within the People team, our organization is not focused on traditional HR and People initiatives, so we have found some of the most successful people don’t have HR/People Ops backgrounds, and therefore, don’t have any preconceived ideas of what HR is and what HR should do. Is okay with chaos - we are still very much a high-growth start-up, which means things change frequently. You can adapt to the needs of the business and can pivot at the drop of a hat. You don’t overly impose structure and organization where it is not needed but do see where a system or process could make a meaningful difference. Is a game for anything - your motto is “put me in coach”. It doesn’t matter where, or what you are doing, you are game to take it on and figure it
