Our Android and iOS app already serves 30,000+ patients every month, with a 4.8-star rating from 30,000+ reviews on iOS and 4.6-star rating from 5,000+ reviews on Android. As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will own the technical roadmap for our app and collaborate closely with designers, clinicians, and engineers to deliver features that directly improve how people access healthcare.
Responsibilities
Own the technical direction of the Circle Medical Android app keeping it stable, secure, and aligned with iOS feature parity.
Implement, test, and maintain patient-facing features with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
Collaborate with design, product, and clinical teams to create delightful, intuitive user experiences.
Collaborate with iOS and Fullstack engineer(s) to develop features across multiple platforms (ie, web, ios, android).
Maintain and improve the CI/CD release pipeline to ensure reliable, high-quality weekly releases.
Write secure, HIPAA-compliant software that patients and clinicians can trust.
Contribute to engineering culture, hiring, and best practices.
Skills / Qualifications Required
7+ years of professional experience as a Mobile Software Engineer, with significant Android expertise.
Proven experience shipping and maintaining commercial Android applications at scale.
Strong Kotlin fundamentals and Jetpack Compose proficiency, with comfort working alongside legacy XML/View-based screens during our ongoing migration.
Strong understanding of modern architectures (MVVM, reactive programming).
Familiarity with Dagger (the DI framework currently in use).
A commitment to testing, quality, and engineering best practices.
A strong eye for clean, user-friendly Android design and UX.
Comfort working with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code) as part of daily workflow.
Skills / Qualifications Preferred
Experience in healthcare or a strong interest in improving patient care.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Math, or related fields.
Experience making product and design decisions in addition to technical ones.
Knowledge of computer security and best practices for protecting sensitive data.
Exposure to iOS or cross-platform development.
Compensation
Our compensation is market-aligned, performance-led, and designed to ensure internal equity. We review pay regularly, with progression tied to demonstrated impact and expanded scope rather than tenure alone. Final offers are determined by an applicant's unique skills, competencies, and qualifications.
In alignment with our values, Circle Medical has transparent salaries based on location, output levels, and options to trade cash for stock. This is a full-time, salaried position, with an annual salary (cash and stock combined) depending on the location:
Montreal, Canada: $161,000 to $197,000 CAD.
USA (remote): $142,000 to $180,000 USD.
