About the Team: The Flight Software team is responsible for developing real-time and mission critical software to support the Terran R program including engine testing, stage testing, and static fire and launch operations.  The team is responsible for the full life cycle of software, from working with GNC, Propulsion, Avionics teams to define functional and performance requirements, to developing the software, unit testing, developing CI/CDs, and then testing it against our various test platforms with physics sims.  This team is responsible for the delivery of reliable and robust software that directly controls the Terran R rockets to reach orbit and perform Entry Descent and Landing.  About the Role: Aerospace experience isn’t required. We value driven engineers with strong computer science fundamental who collaborate well to solve meaningful problems. As a Senior Flight Software Engineer, you will have a major role in the full life cycle of Flight Software from gathering requirements, defining architecture, development, integration to the commissioning and support of test and launch operations. You'll work closely with GNC engineers to integrate complex algorithms for vehicle ascent and re-entry, descent and landing, and closely with Embedded Software Engineers and Avionics to integrate vehicle sensor data such as GPS, IMU, Radar, and to control vehicle equipment such as valves, thrust vector controls, and landing grid fins. This role is expected to be on-site 3x a week in our Long Beach, CA headquarters. Write concise documentation such as Concept of Operations, Interface Control Documents, and Software Design Documents. Architect and deliver core flight software with a strong focus on meeting system and performance requirements such as latency, allowed jitter, and control frequency. Develop telemetry system that prioritizes, filters, stores and forwards, and encodes/decodes telemetry to RF format, and routes that data through ground stations and to data centers. Support the development and integration of testing infrastructure such as HITL (Hardware-In-The-Loop) and HOOTL (Hardware-Out-Of-The-Loop) and physics and fluid sims. Build automated unit, integration and system level tests in CI/CD. Focus on maximizing the team's velocity by defining processes, best practices, integrating modern tools and technologies, and mentoring junior engineers. About You: An undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering) with 5+ years experience of production development experience. About the Role: On the Factory Platform team, you will play a key role in the software development life cycle from initial concept, trade studies, design, implementation, and ongoing iteration.   Develop applications used to plan and schedule purchasing and manufacturing operations, access and analyze engine and component test data, and several other tools used by engineers and operators across the company. Follow agile development practices and implement quality software that is continuously integrated and deployed.   Solve complex problems with simple solutions. Work directly with users and stakeholder teams to figure out system requirements, implement the solutions, and iterate. Technologies we use: Python, React, Typescript, Go. Spark, Iceberg, Duckdb, Redshift, DBT, Postgres, Mongo. AWS, Kubernetes (both cloud and on-prem), Terraform, Helm. About You: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related Engineering field (Computer, Software, Electrical, Aerospace).  7+ years of experience building, shipping, and iterating on multiple apps and services in your career so far. Experience designing in collaboration with non-software stakeholders. Proficient in whatever languages and tools you love most, and willing to learn new ones. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us. About the Team:  The Vehicle Software team is responsible for the software on all Avionics boxes on the vehicle. This spans the operating system image, the applications running on those boxes, and software configuration and deployment. We are also responsible for the test infrastructure required to validate the software, such as the HITL and HOOTL test environments. Finally, our team supports rocket manufacturing and system test efforts starting with Avionics box testing, engine testing, stage integration and checkouts, stage qualification/hot fires, and concluding with stacked vehicle testing and launch.  About the Role: The TRADE team is a critical enabler of launch success at Relativity. As Software Manager, you'll lead a high-impact team solving unique engineering challenges—building the processes and tools that allow us to move fast, test thoroughly, and launch with confidence. This is an opportunity to shape a team and practice that doesn't just borrow from industry best practices—it helps define them. Build a team from the ground up, pulling in industry standards, developer’s lessons learned, and new innovative ideas on how to make vehicle software better. Responsible for the testing, release, and deployment of all vehicle software including flight software, embedded software, and ground applications directly responsible for command and control of the rocket.  Take ownership of, and continually improve, CI/CD pipelines for all vehicle software repos.  Build commonality across pipelines to ensure consistent testing. Translate software requirements and test matrices into test procedures for HITL and HOOTL.  Execute “run-for-records” on HITL and HOOTL, perform and present data reviews on test results.  Scale and continuously automate testing efforts from single engine, to stage, to vehicle and launch. About You: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in technical leadership or management roles. Strong background in at least one of test automation, CI/CD, DevOps practices, or release engineering in a production software environment. Familiarity with systems integration, especially across complex software stacks involving embedded software, flight, or enterprise components. Nice to haves but not required:  Experience managing software deployed to hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) or real-time testbeds is a strong plus. Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity, set strategic direction, and deliver scalable solutions. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines, from software to manufacturing.
