Reshaping industrial quality with AI, hardware, and software

Hiring — 13 openYC-W19Industrials -> Manufacturing and RoboticsGrowth

What Overview does

Here’s a secret between you and me: even the world’s largest manufacturers, companies like Tesla and Toyota, waste billions of dollars every year making products with quality issues. Building high-quality things at scale is incredibly hard. It doesn’t just happen because you hire smart people or buy good machines. It requires seeing problems early, understanding them deeply, and acting in real time, something factories were never designed to do. At Overview.ai, we’re changing that. We build custom hardware, edge AI, and software systems that give manufacturers real visibility into how their products are actually being made. Our technology helps catch defects earlier, reduce waste, and fundamentally improve how factories operate. This work matters, not just for our customers, but for keeping American manufacturing competitive in a world that’s moving faster every year.

What the role involves

Why I’m writing this I’m hiring for a role that doesn’t fit neatly into a box—and that’s the point. You will work directly with me. I’m the founder of Overview.ai and Head of Revenue, and I’ve helped take this company from $0 → $20M, and now we’re building the path from $20M → $100M+. This role is about learning how to do that—end to end—by being deeply embedded in the hardest, highest-leverage problems across the company. If you’re thinking about being a founder one day, or you’ve already been one and want to build something truly generational, this role is written for you. Overview.ai is solving a problem that every manufacturer in the world has. We combine hardware + software + AI in a way that is genuinely difficult to copy. We’re in hypergrowth (700% this year), and this is a foundational role as we enter our next phase. This is high-pace, high-context, high-agency work. You won’t be handed a playbook—you’ll help write it. What you’ll actually do This role sits at the intersection of deep technical understanding, storytelling, and execution. You’ll move fluidly between engineering, sales, demos, customers, and strategy. You will work directly with me to break into, sell into, and expand within high-growth large manufacturers. We already partner with companies like NVIDIA, Ford, Toyota, Tesla, and SpaceX—and we want to systematically win the next generation of category-defining manufacturers. In this role, you will: Identify and prioritize high-growth large manufacturers and design account strategies to win them Break down how these organizations actually make decisions—economic buyers, technical gatekeepers, risk factors, and internal incentives Craft customer-specific technical and business narratives that resonate at the executive and plant level Become deeply expert in our AI smart cameras and inspection systems, owning the hardest demos and proof points Build compelling presentations, validation reports, case studies, and trade-show demos that establish immediate credibility Turn customer learnings into repeatable sales motion, product feedback, and internal enablement Drive technical training, AI fluency, and sales enablement as we scale This role sits at the intersection of technical depth, customer trust, and revenue strategy—with direct exposure to how major industrial deals are actually won. How I’d describe the person I’m looking for I’m not looking for a checklist résumé—I’m looking for someone who compounds fast. You likely: Have a technical background (Engineering, EE, CS, ME, or equivalent depth) Are comfortable going deep technically and communicating clearly Have worked in a cross-functional role (PM-type, consulting, engineer → sales-side, or similar) Learn quickly, take initiative, and fill in gaps without being asked Are AI-fluent and naturally agentic in how you work Thrive in ambiguity and high-ownership environments Want proximity to real decisions, real customers, and real outcomes A strong academic background or top university experience helps—but what matters more is how you think and how fast you execute. Why this role is special This is N=1. There is no prior version of this role. You’ll see how massive enterprise deals are actually won You’ll learn how to turn raw technical capability into revenue You’ll help shape the company during its hypergrowth inflection point I will personally invest time teaching you everything I know about building at this scale If you want a safe, narrow role with fixed boundaries, this isn’t it. If you want to help build a generational industrial AI company—and learn faster than almost anywhere else—let’s talk.

Technical Product Marketing Manager
San Francisco, CA, US / Remote (US)Full-time6+ years$140K - $170K0.10% - 0.25% equityVisa: Will sponsor
What the role involves

The Opportunity We're building computer vision software for manufacturing quality control. Our customers are plant directors and quality engineers at manufacturers: They care about reducing defects and shipping faster. Our product proves it works. What we need now is someone who can credibly explain why we're different, earn trust with a technical buyer, and drive a qualified pipeline. That's this role. What You'll Own: Technical Demos & "Patient Zero" Testing: You are the bridge between engineering and the customer. You will be the first person to test new features in our GTM motions. You will scope, build, and deploy interactive, high-fidelity demos for key industry events, sales pitches, and webinars. Technical Content & Architecture: Write the assets that engineers actually want to read. You'll produce technical deep-dives, API documentation, architectural diagrams, and data-backed case studies. Your job is to translate "our ML model is accurate" into concrete outcomes like "we reduced scrap by 3.2%," partnering directly with our deployments team to pull and analyze real customer telemetry. Growth Engineering & Experiments: Treat our GTM strategy like an engineering problem. You'll design, execute, and measure disciplined experiments across the funnel. This means building internal micro-tools, leveraging APIs for lead enrichment, running A/B tests with strict statistical significance, and writing scripts to automate pipeline generation. If a growth hypothesis fails, you kill it, document the null result, and ship the next iteration. Technical Evangelism & Industry Presence: Be the technical face of our product. Instead of traditional PR, you'll build credibility by speaking at industry events, hosting technical webinars, and engaging directly with communities where our buyers live. You will build the physical and digital demo experiences that make our booth the most crowded at trade shows. GTM Data Infrastructure: Build the systems that let us scale without chaos. You'll own the technical setup of our marketing stack, instrumenting event tracking (e.g., Segment, Mixpanel, HubSpot), building attribution models, and ensuring our GTM data pipeline is clean, accurate, and actionable. Partner Engineering & Competitive Intelligence: Co-create reference architectures and technical integration guides with our hardware partners. You'll tear down competitor products, understand their technical limitations, and build battlecards that arm our sales team with unassailable technical differentiation. You're a Strong Fit If You Have Engineering Background: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on technical depth. You can read API docs, understand system architecture, and write code (Python, SQL, or similar) to solve growth problems. Technical GTM Experience: 3+ years in Sales Engineering, Developer Advocacy, Technical Product Marketing, or Growth Engineering for a B2B product. A Builder's Portfolio: A track record of things you've built and shipped—whether that's a complex product demo, an open-source contribution, a growth tool you coded, or a deep-dive technical whitepaper (no promotional fluff). Data & Experimentation Chops: You are highly comfortable with data, A/B testing, statistical significance, and instrumenting analytics pipelines. You know what a null result is, and you let the data drive your decisions. A Bias Toward Shipping: You prefer rapid iteration over perfection. You ship four high-impact experiments this quarter, not one perfect campaign. Nice to Have: Familiarity with computer vision, machine learning models, or edge computing deployments. Direct experience selling or marketing industrial, manufacturing, or hardware products to technical buyers. Experience scaling a technical startup's GTM engine from $10M to $100M+ Revenue We're not looking for someone who: Treats marketing copy as a creative exercise instead of a sales tool Prefers perfection over iteration Works best with a big agenc

Vision Sales Engineer (Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC) - Field-based (Travel locally for 60 to 80%)
United States / Remote (US)Full-time3+ years$75K - $120KVisa: US citizen/visa only
What the role involves

About Overview.ai Automation is a defining priority for manufacturers today. Automating quality inspection is one of the highest-impact ways this is happening—it directly affects yield, scrap rates, throughput, and whether production survives. Vision systems have been around for decades, but traditional competitors don't do true AI well. Their systems are rigid, require extensive programming, and struggle with the complexity of modern manufacturing. That's changing now. Overview's edge-enabled AI vision devices handle assembly verification, defect detection, and orientation checks with accuracy that wasn't possible before. They integrate into existing lines at production speed. Customers see results on day one: higher yield, lower scrap, fewer escapes, faster throughput. But this technology is new. The old rules don't apply. We need incredibly talented people to figure out how AI vision scales across facilities and saves billions while reshaping how factories operate. Once it's trusted, it becomes foundational infrastructure. We're trusted by companies like Ford, Honda, Toyota, SpaceX, and Milliken. Our systems are built for real factory conditions—deterministic, edge-first, and deployable at scale. The people who define how this gets done will shape the next decade of American manufacturing. About the Role We're building the foundation of our field team and need someone who can help manufacturers save millions in labor and quality costs by deploying AI vision systems that actually work in production. You'll get an inside look into the secret world of manufacturing—working directly with engineers at the world's largest manufacturers to realize the potential of AI cameras. This is a field-first role based in the Atlanta/Southeast region (covering Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina). You'll spend 60-80% of your time on factory floors across the Southeast, finding projects where AI inspection can have real impact, running technical evaluations, and making sure deployments succeed in live production environments. You'll learn how to make AI cameras work well—and just as importantly, which projects are likely impossible. This role sits at the intersection of technical depth, customer relationships, and commercial impact. You'll operate with high autonomy—no scripts, no hand-holding. You'll be trusted to ask the right questions, diagnose problems in messy conditions, make field judgment calls, and move projects forward even when information is incomplete. With support from Overview engineers, you'll become the technical expert customers rely on. We can teach you manufacturing, machine vision, and our technology. What we need you to show up with is the ability to operate independently, build trust in high-stakes conversations, learn fast through hands-on exposure, and own outcomes without excuses. It's going to be hard work. This role is for someone who: Has already proven they can operate at a high level in professional or demanding environments (2+ years) Is curious, hard-working, and hungry to grow faster than they thought possible Thrives in real-world conditions—factory floors, tight timelines, ambiguity, and pressure Sees 60-80% travel as an opportunity to build expertise and customer relationships, not a burden Wants to be exceptionally great at something that matters If you've been the person others come to when things need to get done, if you learn by doing, and if you want ownership over real outcomes—this role is built for you. Why This Role Is Exciting You're entering manufacturing AI at the perfect moment Guide customers through their first real AI wins with technology that delivers measurable results on day one—higher yield, lower scrap, fewer escapes. This isn't experimental; it's production-critical infrastructure customers depend on for real decisions. Work with the world's best solving real problems Deploy AI vision systems at Ford, Honda, Toyota, SpaceX, and Milliken. Your work directly impacts

What the role involves

Vision Sales Engineer Location: California (field-first; hybrid when not onsite) Territory: California (based in San Francisco) Travel: 60–80% (factory-heavy) Type: Full-time About Overview.ai Overview.ai is bringing the cutting edge of AI computer vision to manufacturing, solving inspection problems that were previously not solvable with traditional machine vision. We're a full-stack company: we deploy GPU-powered cameras on production lines, run inference on the edge, and operate a platform that supports large fleets of devices deployed across the world. We're one of the fastest-growing industrial AI companies in the world. We grew ~700% last year, tripled headcount, and expect to double or triple again as demand keeps accelerating —because the product works in production: high accuracy, fast deployment, and an operator-friendly experience that makes real factory rollouts possible (not just pilots). The opportunity (why this role is different) This is not a cold-start, 0→1 sales role. We already have major customers, executive buy-in, and proven deployments running in real factories today. Your job is to take that momentum and multiply it across California: Turn warm introductions into live factory projects fast Convert first-station wins into repeatable rollouts across lines and sites Drive urgency and close expansions that don't "drift to next quarter" Unblock real-world constraints (technical, operational, organizational) that slow velocity You'll be selling at the exact moment manufacturing leadership is demanding AI outcomes. This is one of the easiest and most tangible ways for a factory to "enter AI" because it directly improves yield, scrap, throughput, and labor. What you'll own 1) Territory revenue ownership (California) Own pipeline, forecasting, and revenue outcomes for California Start with hunting - win new inspection points and new lines - then build into expansion as your accounts grow Turn customer success into aggressive expansion across factories, lines, and inspection points You'll be dropped into meaningful accounts early so you can hit the ground running - top logos, real budgets, real urgency 2) Technical, consultative selling (vision + automation) Run high-signal discovery with Quality, Process, Automation, and Ops Understand how customers currently solve inspection, where incumbents fail, and how to win Position Overview clearly vs incumbents using real deltas: accuracy, deployability, operator usability, and platform capabilities Partner with applications + engineering to propose practical deployment plans that win 3) Create urgency and remove friction Drive timelines: next steps, milestones, line access, data collection, acceptance criteria, decision makers Identify blockers early (process readiness, resourcing, line access, mechanical stability, integration constraints) and push them to resolution Own executive updates and communication cadence to keep deals moving 4) Operate like a closer Build relationships that hold: plant champions → regional leaders → global decision makers Negotiate and close with speed and precision Be relentless about follow-up and execution—no "maybe next quarter" drift If you own a major account, you get credit and commission for all sites in your territory—regardless of how much help we bring in Why we win (and why selling Overview is different) Industry-leading AI models → higher accuracy on real-world variation Edge-first + production-ready → deterministic performance in factories A feature set competitors don't have → you can win on clear deltas (the easiest kind of selling) Agentic workflows → deploying cameras is easier than ever, which shortens cycles and accelerates expansions This is "delta selling" with a product customers genuinely want. The key to winning isn't slick talk—it's becoming a product expert, running high-signal evaluations, and helping the customer move quickly. Support model (you're not alone) This is a high-ownership role, but it is
