MorphoAI
Software tool for designing robots and machines
What MorphoAI does
We're building an AI powered platform for engineers that are building new robots and machines. We allow users to invent and modify machine designs in a matter of minutes, not years. Ayna and Andy, the co-founders, met during their time at Harvard and started this in 2024 as their programs were wrapping up. We're commercializing 10+ years research done by our team at Harvard and MIT on this space. Our team wrote the very first papers on applying GenAI and optimization algorithms to compose robots from parts and applying computational design to fine tune machine designs. We're bringing in our deep knowledge of modifying equipment and integrating it into factories keenly understanding what makes hardware hard. We take in parts under consideration, constraints and tasks at hand and our algorithm formulates and fine tunes from 100s of possible design options. All in a few clicks, so engineers can push hardware to market faster and companies can benefit from the inventions being done by their R&D teams. We already have two paying customers in the OEM and system integrator spaces. We are venture backed and supported by a GBP 2.5MM grant by ARIA, the UK Government's invention agency.
2 open roles
What the role involves
MorphoAI (YC + ARIA-backed, $6M+ pre-seed). I’m Ayna, I build 2 hardware companies before (last one is at Series B). My co-founder Andrew Spielberg is a professor of electrical engineering and robotics at Carnegie Mellon. We’re building hardware foundation models that enable generation of manufacturing ready designs across a variety of hardware: robotics, aerospace, data centers, power equipment, and more. We're bringing to life 40+ papers written by the team at MIT and Harvard (differentiable simulation, gen-AI design, optimization co-design) to enable mechanical engineers to build more hardware designs. We're a team of 9 (2 MIT PhD; Forbes u30; serial founders; and much of our team comes from deploying hardware at Amazon Robotics), already doubled this year and looking to grow the team. I'm hiring for a chief of staff, who will work directly with me on being a jack of all trades: strategy, ops, sales and marketing, whatever if the highest leverage thing for the business in that moment. The role is a little bit of everything, and you’ll see how decisions are made at the top. London based, in person with our team. App is simple: what is one thing I should know about you? send us a message. It could be the most challenging think you’ve done, a view of the world that’s unique to you, or something that inspires you.
What the role involves
https://airtable.com/appRmY0WjwYJaJTWs/pagbiVz7BUNOhTj2O/form What you'll do As a founding engineer, you will work directly with the CTO and partially with the CEO on critical parts of the product roadmap to develop and deploy new critical new capabilities. Build and deploy products for SMB and enterprise customers that will have a huge, tangible impact on customers’ product development. Engage with customers to understand how users think about their problems and how we can develop usable products to solve them. What you’ll bring 2+ years experience in hands-on software development of highly technical products or a PhD in a CS or robotics-related field (e.g. MechE, ECE, etc.).. Past experience in software development, ideally for deployed products, open-source projects, or large codebases Past experience working with control systems, Ideally having broad working knowledge in more than one of the following: Numerical optimization Generative AI development and its underlying core methodology Physical simulation and scientific computing Advanced robotic control methods Geometry processing representations and algorithms Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, from ideation to deployment to maintenance Intense curiosity, a desire to be continuously learning, grit, and an ability to communicate your technical ideas to a team Product-minded with bent towards ideating Proficiency in Python and leading ML frameworks such as Jax and PyTorch Even better... Experience working at a startup as an early hire, and being in charge of deploying product and code Past roles that interface with end customers to influence software development Proficiency in additional programming languages including (e.g.) C++ and C#. Experience programming CUDA kernels for GPU-acceleration, and integration of those kernels with ML frameworks. Experience with visual computing domain-specific languages (DSLs) such as NVIDIA Warp or Taichi-Lang. Previous development work in Unity or NVIDIA Omniverse. What we offer We offer the following to full-time employees: 20 days off/ year Medical and dental benefits Health and wellness discount plan 401(k) account Factorio (and other games) gaming buddies
