We build brains for robots. We work with manufacturers like Unitree to make robots listen, speak, and act. You can program your robot out of the box by literally talking to it, no coding involved. Robots running Lightberry are emotionally intelligent, always on, and fully autonomous. Just like in Star Wars!

What the role involves
Humanoid robots doing backflips are super cool, but to be useful they need to be able to listen, communicate, and operate in the world. Your role in our organization would be to help make that a reality by developing autonomy for humanoid robots and working to advise manufacturers on their next generation of hardware. What you'll do Work hands-on with robots that cost more than most cars Iterate on software deployed to customer's robots in the real world Advise humanoid robot manufacturers about sensor placement, hardware interfaces, and operational design Work on camera-based 3D perception: detection, tracking, gesture and body language understanding, and speaker identification Improve locomotion for walking safely in public environments Team up with animators to make the robot's movement, body language, and gestures more fluid and natural What we’re looking for Robotics experience (self-driving cars, drones, humanoids, off-road robotics, or similar) Experience shipping products into the real world Strong C++ or Rust experience Comfortable working with and debugging hardware Excited to take high ownership of product features Technology We deploy on humanoid robots, for example Unitree G1s upfit with custom hardware. Our onboard code is written in C++20 and our offboard code is primarily Python 3.14.

What you'll do Use robots that cost more than most cars to evaluate and test new features Iterate on software deployed to customer's robots in the real world Improve our composite voice pipelines using the latest state of the art models Add and improve features like knowledge storage/retrieval, smarter turn taking, automatic personality tuning Create clever approaches to reducing latency and make interactions feel more natural What we’re looking for Experience with cloud development (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes) Experience with latency sensitive applications (voice pipelines, video games, streaming) Experience with voice AI High ownership of product features Addiction to observability metrics Excellent taste in developer tooling Technology Our cloud code is primarily Python 3.14 and it uses a custom UDP-based streaming protocol to communicate with the robots We deploy at edge locations across the world in GCP and AWS Who will you work with Self driving engineers from Argo, repeat YC founders, CERN physicist, Emmy winning animators Previously built: a web browser (SigmaOS), self-driving cars (Argo), radiation detectors on the ISS, and more.
