What the role involves

A Y Combinator/Imagine K12 company, ClassDojo's long-term goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love. The ClassDojo app is the #1 communication app for micro-communities of K-8 teachers, children and families globally; they use it to stay connected, sharing what's happening through the school day through photos, videos, messages, and activities. The company is now helping kids get learning experiences they love, beyond school. Today, ClassDojo is used by 95% of pre K-8 schools in the US, as well as in a further 180 countries. As our 0→1 Product Leader, you’ll create and validate new products reaching tens of millions of children and families, building a global consumer education business. You’ll grow ClassDojo from where we are to our next major milestones: reaching 100 million+ active families, and 100 million+ in revenue, while deepening our brand love. You’ll do this by rolling up your sleeves to discover opportunities for alternative revenue models, validate and invalidate these, and execute on one or more with the most promise. You’ll work closely with our founders, head of product, and other product teams to generate and test exciting ideas quickly and creatively. You work at both a strategic and tactical level, turning data, research, and intuition into products that people want and love to use. In the process, you optimize for rapid learning by uncovering unique insights or theses, exploring divergent prototypes, and testing value and viability with users to converge to simple, elegant, validated prototypes and products. Your work will identify and build new business lines, taking them from 0 to 1, drive growth, and should help further our mission to provide educational experiences kids and families love. As a Sr. Full-stack engineer at ClassDojo, you'll help build the systems that will support our rapid growth. You’ll work on production code from day one in a pair programming environment, deploy often, move quickly, and have your work used by millions of students, teachers, and parents around the world every day.
