What Charge Robotics does
Charge Robotics is building robots that automate the most labor-intensive parts of solar construction. Solar has rapidly become the cheapest form of power generation in many regions. Demand has skyrocketed, and now the primary barrier to getting it installed is labor logistics and bandwidth. Our robots remove the labor bottleneck, allowing construction companies to meet the rising demand for solar, and enabling the world to switch to renewables faster.

Demand for new solar projects is booming (1 ⁄ 5 of all the solar that exists in the US was installed last year!), but today’s construction companies can’t keep up due to limited labor resources. We thought this was insane, so we started working on robots to directly address this bottleneck and speed up the world’s transition to renewables. Charge is a fast-moving company, which means constant opportunities for learning and growth. You’ll have a large impact on the direction of our company, and will be compensated accordingly. What you’ll be working on: Supporting the mechanical + software engineering teams in assembly, testing, and support of new robotic systems Maintaining and organizing the workshop Developing and maintaining engineering documentation including SOPs As a R&D Engineering Technician at Charge Robotics, you’ll play a major role in building, testing, and deploying our next generation of solar installation robots. What you’ll be working on: Operating our state-of-the-art robotic factory and fleet of delivery vehicles on jobsites across the United States Assigning tasks to other team members to ensure materials are loaded correctly and efficiently into the factory Working with the software team to improve operator user experience and efficiency Monitoring the factory for faults, documenting issues, and working through resolutions with the team back at HQ Communicating updates with the site superintendent on a regular basis As a Robotics System Operator at Charge Robotics, you’ll be working with our engineering and operations teams to deploy a first-of-its-kind robotic solar installation system that will install gigawatts of clean power generation. Your work will directly deploy gigawatts of clean electricity generation.
