Key Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, Account Executives at CarbonChain are “CEOs of their own businesses”, given the responsibility to develop their territory including building a plan and executing on that. They will work alongside Business Development & Marketing to design and implement a Pipeline Generation Plan, and will seek to close ARR on a predictable, efficient and scalable basis. They will also be part of our founding commercial team, so we expect this person to be driven both by personal results and also invigorated by the idea of contributing to the foundation of the business, helping us iterate on strategy, and one day leading their own part of CarbonChain. This position is for someone who has the ability to handle an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment, ramp up very fast on the technology and the climate regulation market, and help direct the company’s efforts given your regular contact with prospects & customers. They crucially need to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations and thrive on making great decisions quickly. We need a driven Account Executive who has a track record of smashing their quota for 3+ years, and has had the experience of working in a fast paced start-up. They should be a PG wizard, constantly over exceeding outbound PG goals, and they should have excellent sales fundamentals (which we’ll help you build on!) Experience in the sustainability/climate tech industry is a plus, but not required. About the Role The Tech teams at CarbonChain build and operate the systems that help sustainability leaders decarbonise their industries. We enable the union of carbon data with our customer’s data to create actionable insights for carbon emissions and track where they are generated in our customer’s supply chains. This is an exciting mix of fullstack software engineering, backend systems engineering, data engineering and data science. We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to speak the language of decarbonisation for our customers, via product. You’ll join our Product Development team and contribute to the technical implementation of our product interface and services as we build our best in class carbon accounting platform. The successful candidate will be a senior software engineer who has previously operated as a hands-on engineer focused on building enterprise applications in collaboration with design and product. In this role, the successful candidate will partner with Product, Design, Data and our Carbon teams to build features that delight our customers, and collaborate with engineers across the organization to ensure that we deliver accurate carbon data to our customers. We’ve seen first hand at CarbonChain that measurement equals management in the challenge to reduce global emissions. If you’re great at what you do, we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will be a software engineering leader who has operated as a hands-on tech lead and then transitioned across to Engineering Management to lead and develop highly technical teams and scale their impact. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day technology execution of our software teams, will be responsible for product delivery, and focus on delivering innovative product improvements. This role includes interfacing with the leadership team on long-term strategy, helping engineers across the organization solve problems, and delivering excellent solutions for our customers. This role will report directly into our CEO and be a partner to our Head of Product and Head of Sales. What we require from applicants At least 2 years of experience managing multiple software teams in a startup environment 3 or more years of experience in a tech lead role A strong customer focus.
