At Just Appraised, we’re modernizing the infrastructure behind local government. Our software helps tax assessors and government agencies replace outdated, manual workflows with AI-powered tools that reduce backlogs, improve accuracy, and help communities fund schools, infrastructure, and public services more effectively.
We work closely with government teams across the United States to solve deeply operational problems with practical, modern software. We’re entering a new stage of growth and are looking for engineers who want to own product outcomes.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Product Engineer to help build and shape the next generation of workflows, automation, and AI-powered experiences at Just Appraised.
This is a high-ownership role for engineers who care deeply about users, product quality, and shipping impactful software quickly. You’ll work across the stack, partner directly with customers and internal stakeholders, and help define what we build - not just how we build it.
We’re intentionally targeting engineers who thrive in fast-moving environments and have experience operating in scaling companies, where ambiguity, speed, and ownership are part of daily work.
What You’ll Do
Build and ship end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and internal tooling
Work closely with Customers and internal stakeholders to define product features, build prototypes and solutions end to end.
Talk directly with users and government stakeholders to understand workflows and pain points
Own projects from discovery through launch and iteration
Design scalable systems, APIs, workflows, and data models
Rapidly prototype AI-enabled features and operational tooling
Improve developer experience, product reliability, and system performance
What We’re Looking For
4+ years of software engineering experience combined with product ownership
Experience working with customers and stakeholders to identify product vision
Strong full-stack development experience with modern web technologies
Experience working in high-ownership startup or growth-stage environments
Product mindset : you think about customer outcomes, usability, and business impact
Ability to move quickly with good judgment and minimal oversight
Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating cross-functionally
Experience balancing speed with maintainable engineering practices
Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping create structure where needed

About Just Appraised
Our goal is to empower local government employees with the tools, technology, and support they need so they can deliver exceptional service to their taxpayers and feel proud of the work they do for their communities. We contribute by building software to streamline local government tax assessors’ workflows using AI. Specifically, we streamline the change of ownership process for real estate and create more seamless ways for tax offices to communicate digitally with their taxpayers. For instance, when properties get bought and sold, local governments have to process reams of paper in order to update their systems and perform the analyses necessary to update the tax roll. Our software makes this process 10x faster and much more enjoyable for employees in the tax office to complete, and creates trust and goodwill in the minds of taxpayers.
