Founding Front End Engineer
at Mage Legal — Automatic AI Legal Diligence
What the role involves
The Role
You’ll build the interfaces our customers interact with across Mage Legal’s AI-native platform. This is a true founding engineering role—you’ll make architectural and implementation decisions that shape how attorneys and deal teams experience the product for years to come. The focus is on clarity, speed, and trust in high-stakes legal workflows.
What You’ll Do
Own multiple frontend architectures and codebases, making key decisions around frameworks, patterns, performance, and maintainability.
Work closely with the founding team to translate real customer needs into product features and usable workflows.
Take partially complete or “vibe-coded” frontends and harden them into production-ready, reliable interfaces.
Rapidly prototype and iterate on frontend ideas to test workflows, UX patterns, and new product concepts.
Partner with backend and AI engineering to ensure frontend experiences accurately reflect system behavior and outputs.
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience with TypeScript.
Solid React experience and familiarity with modern frontend tooling.
Comfortable working with LLM-powered systems and AI-driven products.
Ability to work in person from our San Francisco (SoMa) office.
This role is based in person in San Francisco, CA (not remote).
