About Kastle
Kastle is building AI operating system for consumer lending, starting with mortgage. We work with some of America’s largest mortgage lenders, helping them scale their contact center and compliance operations using AI voice agents. Backed by $2.3M from Y Combinator, Commerce Ventures, and executives from Snapdocs, Google, and WePay, we are redefining lending with AI.
About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll be the technical owner of our most important accounts. You’ll embed deeply with customers, translate messy business problems into working software, and ship AI agents on Kastle’s platform that go live in production. You’ll own outcomes end-to-end: scoping, developing, deploying, scaling, and ensuring long-term success.
This is not a roadmap-bound role. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, product, and GTM—moving fast, unblocking customers, and making Kastle indispensable.
Responsibilities
Build, configure, and launch AI agents on Kastle’s platform to handle real borrower workflows
Write production-grade backend and full-stack code (Python, Java, TypeScript) to integrate with loan servicing systems, data sources, and telephony platforms.
Scope ambiguous customer asks, prototype quickly, and iterate into stable deployments.
Own reliability, performance, and security across customer environments.
Act as the technical face of Kastle in key accounts, building trust through speed, empathy, and impact.
Feed customer learnings back into the core product, influencing roadmap and reusable tooling.
What We’re Looking For
2–5 years of software engineering experience, with real ownership of features or deployments.
Strong coder with proficiency in Python, Java, or similar; comfortable building APIs and backend systems.
Bias toward outcomes: you care more about unblocking customers and delivering value than perfect abstractions.
Comfortable with ambiguity: able to decompose fuzzy asks, prioritize independently, and ship without a spec.
Customer-centric: confident working directly with business leaders as well as engineers.
Willing to relocate to SF and work 5 days a week in-office.

Experience building or deploying AI/ML-powered applications.
Experience in highly regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.).
Familiarity with enterprise security, networking, or infrastructure.
Previous customer-facing engineering role (forward deployed, solutions engineer, etc.).

About Kastle
Kastle is an AI voice agent for mortgage servicing. We help servicers collect payments, verify new borrowers, and qualify new loan inquiries over the phone. Rishi and Nitish met at UIUC where they graduated with degrees in systems engineering and computer science. Rishi was the founding Product Manager for Redfin’s Mortgage Marketplace at 22 and grew the business from $3M to $6M in revenue in 9 months. Nitish patented Verkada’s motion search system and was the youngest tech lead at the company at 23. While building Redfin's Mortgage Marketplace Rishi realized traditional lenders didn't have the infrastructure to service online inquiries and were losing customers. Nitish and Rishi are building Kastle to help traditional financial services companies better interface with their customers.
