What the role involves
What Artisan Is
We're building AI employees. Not chatbots. Not copilots. Autonomous digital workers that do real jobs.
Our first, Ava, is an AI BDR used by hundreds of companies. She researches leads, writes and sends emails in a customer's voice, runs multi-step outbound sequences, manages her own deliverability infrastructure, self-optimizes over time, and handles objections and meeting booking. She's not a tool someone uses. She's a teammate.
We're a YC W24 company, have raised $35M+ from investors including Y Combinator, and are at $9M+ ARR. We just launched Ava 2.0, a step change in what an AI employee can do. The engineering problems are hard and the surface area is enormous.
The Role
The Artisan product has a HUGE surface area. An autonomous AI BDR, a database of 400M+ leads, intent signals, a dialer, enrichments, etc. We replace and automate companies’ entire GTM stacks. This year we’re doubling down on GTM with two new Artisans and massively broadening the scope of the product to enable our users to see more value.
You'll own product areas across the Artisan platform. This is a role where you'll define what we build, drive execution with engineering and design, and be accountable for outcomes and metrics.
What that looks like concretely
- PMs at Artisan do a mixture of product, design and vibe coding. You’ll spend much of your day in Claude, Notion and Figma, owning products from inception through to scale
- You’ll vibe code prototypes for features, get feedback from customers and iterate before handing off to design (or sometimes straight to engineering)
- You pull signal from support tickets, sales conversations, usage data, session recordings, and direct customer feedback. You synthesize all of that into what we build next and what we don't
- You’ll use Claude to write comprehensive PRDs for design and engineering
- You’ll work with design to annotate everything before handing features off to engineering
- You’ll own help center articles, product documentation, adoption and product marketing related to features you build
- We move fast and the backlog is always bigger than the team. You classify work by urgency and impact, manage the sprint, and make hard calls
Who You Are
- You’re a 10x PM who’s Claude-pilled
- You’re excited to be hands-on with prototyping
- You’re excited to work at Artisan and are happy sometimes working nights and weekends
- You understand APIs, data models, and system architecture well enough to have real conversations with engineers and make informed trade-offs
- You default to data. You're comfortable with product analytics, A/B tests, and using metrics to validate decisions rather than opinions
- High agency and low ego. You don't wait to be told what to do. You identify the highest-leverage problem and go after it
- Comfortable with ambiguity. We're defining new product categories where there's no playbook. You find that exciting, not stressful
- You put the customer and customer outcomes above all else
Why This Role
You're building the product layer for AI employees. This isn't a standard SaaS platform. Ava makes autonomous decisions, sends real emails to real people, and operates 24/7 on behalf of customers. The product bar is high because when the AI gets it wrong, a real person's reputation is on the line.
The surface area is huge. A lead database of hundreds of millions of people. An AI messaging engine. A multi-channel campaign orchestrator. A CRM. A dialer. An inbox with autonomous reply handling. Intent signals. A billing system. You won't get bored.
You'll define the practice, not just execute it. This is an early-stage product team where you'll shape how we spec, ship, and iterate. Your decisions will set the standard for how the product org operates as we scale.
Competitive salary + meaningful equity. We compensate for impact.
Interview Process

About Artisan
At Artisan, we’re building real AI employees - not copilots, not assistants, but autonomous teammates. Our first, Ava, is an AI BDR. She finds and researches leads, writes emails in customers’ tone of voice, runs outbound sequences, self-optimizes, and manages email deliverability infrastructure. She learns, adapts, and improves over time - just like a human would. Human team members use Artisan as their primary working platform, replacing a sprawling stack of sales tools, and have Artisans working alongside them. We went through Y Combinator (W24) and have raised $35M+ from top investors. We’re at $6M+ ARR, with hundreds of customers including Remote, Quora, and SumUp. We’re currently working on Ava 2.0, pushing the boundaries of what an AI employee can do. And we're hiring.
